Illustrations of roses from the Broughton Collection.
The Broughton bequest (1966 and 1973) has given the Fitzwilliam Museum one of the finest collections of botanical art in the world. Major the Hon. Henry Rogers Broughton gifted over 100 oil paintings, 38 albums of illustrations, and an astonishing 900 drawings of flowers to the museum. This pack contains five of the loveliest roses from the vast collection. Images include:
- Georg Dionysius Ehret, Provins rose
- Nicolas Robert, California rose and lavender with a goldfinch, crested pigeon and a butterfly
- Chinese School, Roses in bud and bloom
- W. Mussilla, Climbing tea roses and a humming bird
- Louise d'Orléans, Pink centifolia rose
