Yoko Ono - Toilet Thoughts Falttasche
A detail from Yoko Ono’s Toilet Thoughts Film No.3, 1968 is printed on both sides of this handy, feather-light packaway shopping bag and its handy zip pouch.
Toilet Thoughts Film No.3 was a conceptual artwork encouraging viewers to paste posters in toilets, revisit monthly to take pictures of them until they’re all gone, or ‘until you are satisfied’, before compiling the images into a film.
The image of a bottom is printed onto lightweight recycled taffeta, using waterless printing techniques. The shopper folds away neatly into its tiny zip pouch, ready for use whenever you need it. It’s light but mighty, holding up to 20kg worth of books, shopping, groceries, or anything else you need to carry.
The bag is part of our Tate Modern gift shop collection of prints, clothing and accessories inspired by the art and activism on display in YOKO ONO MUSIC OF THE MIND, designed to help you keep Ono’s poetic and participatory works in mind after the exhibition.
